mount rainier.

When I flew out of Seattle on September 12th, the weather was absolutely beautiful and clear…which made for a spectacular view of Mount Rainier from my window seat. I couldn't believe how blue the sky was and I couldn't stop craning my neck to peer out and watch as we flew beyond the mountain and back east.

this is mark.

This is one of many street portraits I was able to get while in Seattle. Pike Place Market was absolutely packed with potential portraits. Sadly, some of the folks I came across and asked to take photos of weren't too pleased with the idea and turned me down. Luckily, Mark Conover did not.

He might be one of my favorite portraits to date. He makes and sells his own jewelry at the market and has been for over twenty years. Apparently it started out as a part-time thing while he looked for work as a teacher.

I, for one, am happy he stuck with the jewelry gig.
