Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization that began in 2007, created by the Worcester family, along with veterans and other groups who had previously helped with a wreath ceremony they'd done annually in the Arlington Cemetery. The successful organization has expanded across the country and even overseas, to join together on the same day and place wreaths at the gravestones of veterans.

On this particular foggy morning, hundreds of volunteers gathered for a short presentation at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery before wandering the sprawling grounds with wreaths in tow. Shortly before the wreath-laying began, the sun burned through the fog to reveal a picturesque blue sky on what had become the perfect morning for the day's events.

Several local Cub Scout groups participated alongside other veterans and active duty military personnel wanting to honor those that had been laid to rest in the cemetery. As the morning progressed on, the previously stark landscape was quickly covered in every direction you could see with the simple red ribbon-adorned wreaths.
