china kitchen.

I'm back in Shepherdstown for the weekend, which is great, because it seems that my photography (not only skills, but motivation) blossoms when I'm here. Ashley and Joel's families are also going to be in town for their graduation tomorrow, so tonight we went to dinner with Joel's parents and his brother at China Kitchen, one of our favorite spots.  I got one of the most fitting fortunes I've ever received tonight, which I almost featured as my photo, but decided against because this one was better.

The fortune read: "You will make many changes before settling satisfactorily."  So true.

Anyway, that's Tyler (Joel's broseph) in the photo...his yellow shirt was the perfect compliment to the colors of China Kitchen.

sparkle and fade.

I often take a ton of photos at an event or on a trip...then I load them to my computer, erase the card and forget about them.  This photo is from the Fourth of July last year that I spent with Joel and Ashley at the Antietam battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland.  There was a huge thunderstorm rolling in as the fireworks show went on and it was just breathtaking.  The clouds opened up on us the second they finished and we walked back a mile in the drenching rain with giddy grins on our faces.  I stumbled upon over 250 photos I'd taken from that night and decided it was time to share at least one of them. july4th

splish splash.

This photo was taken with my point and shoot in Florida using it's awesome fantastic underwater casing.  This was one of the few really good ones I got.  Getting decent photos while being pummeled by waves is harder than you'd think. waves
