This is the perfect representation of my weekend in Shepherdstown, WV.  Lounging around in the sun with Ashley.  Ah, this week has been so torturous knowing this is how I spent my weekend.  GAH.

I went to Shepherdstown, WV this past weekend to visit my great friends Ashley and Joel Selby.  While there, I took hundreds of photos...and for some reason I can't seem to find all that many I acutally like in the whole bunch.  I know that I got some good ones, but maybe it's just that I'm in the kind of mood that prevents me from seeing them in the way I should.  At any rate, I went through all of them and decided that this one was one of the few worthy for posting to the blog...for now at least.  Maybe tomorrow I'll look at them again and find some more that I like.

the traveling belgian.

This is by far my favorite man to photograph.  He sits outside the entrance to the Tower of the Winds in Athens, Greece and collects money to feed stray cats and dogs.  I first came across him on my semester abroad during the summer of 2006 and spent a few afternoons sitting with him and hearing his life story.  When I visited and later moved back to Greece in 2007 I immediately went and found him again and photographed him on each trip.  This particular photo was taken on my visit in May of 2007.
