back porch.

I took this back in August when I surprised Ashley and Joel by showing up at their house and breaking in to take a shower while they were gone. Kind of like my own version of Goldie Locks…except there was shampoo instead of porridge. I loved the nostalgic feel of their porch and the lighting was just perfect.

I promise to start digging through my massive amounts of photos and start posting more often.

bamboo tunnel.

I took this while visiting Joel and Ashley of This Paper Ship in North Carolina during my month of travels. We had a day excursion at the zoo and enjoyed romping around the almost-empty zoo acting like teenagers (and sometimes small children). I took this as they walked in front of me through a cool tunnel of bamboo. 10-27-09

licking flames.

I'm usually the type of person that shies away from posting any photo that might fall into the "cliche" category. However, this photo in particular, despite all of it's cliche fieriness, struck me at my first glance and had me going back a few times before I finally decided to suck it up and just post it. This photo is from the leg of my trip last weekend that took me down to surprise Joel and Ashley in Trinity, NC. My favorite part (aside from the lovely flames licking at the logs) is that Joel's face is ever so slightly lit up in the background behind the fire…so slightly in fact that you might miss it if you're not looking for it. I love subtle details like that.
