painting in the park.

Why haven't I posted anything on here in over ten days???  Sorry everyone.  I actually haven't taken many photos lately, which is weird because I haven't been employed in quite a while and spend most of my days biking and being outdoors, which should be perfect, right?  Right. Anyway, I apologize...again.

This was taken on a day in the park that I've posted two photos from (James Booth, Star) already and I'd forgotten I had a few others I was waiting to post. The photo is pretty self-explanatory. It's a guy painting a scene in the park. I chatted him up for a bit and got his name, but I didn't write it down and have since forgotten it…oops!

break it down.

I spent another lazy day in the park this afternoon.  It just so happened that a bunch of street performers graced us with their presence, so I couldn't help but go over and take a few shots.  I love close-up low angles, so I sprawled out on the sidewalk before them.  Luckily, not only did they not seem to mind, but they also did a few tricks where they waved and winked and interacted with the camera. 7-12-09

This is a photo of one of my favorite cafe patrons, James Booth.  He's about the sweetest man you'll ever meet.  He lives at an assisted living place run by the Bethesda Project just around the corner from Cafe L'Aube.  He started coming in for a daily cup of coffee back in September when I first moved here and the cafe just first opened.  I asked him months ago if I could take photos of him sometime when it got warmer and he agreed at once and even boasted about it to a customer one day.  I want to do a whole series with him in which I follow him for a day, but yesterday I saw him hanging out in the park and knew there was no better way to break in my new camera than with a few shots of him. 7-11-09
